Cork, the bark from trees, has been used as flooring for hundreds
of years. This "oldie but goodie" from Europe is a sustainable
building supply… a cork tree can be harvested for up
to two hundred years. The original acoustic tile, cork circumnavigated
theglobe as a sound control device. Durable, yet soft and
resilient, this beautiful material will last many years.
Made of linseed oil, cork dust, and dies pressed upon a jute
backing, linoleum is one of the oldest environmental products
around. This is the REAL stuff, not the PVC found at other
hardware stores. Linoleum, along with its cousins marmoleum
and artoleum, is one of the best floor products for moist
areas such as kitchens, saunas, and baths, both residential
and commercial. New colors and styles have brought this traditional
covering back.
We carry recycled hardwoods, vintage lumber, reclaimed and
remilled OAK, CHESTNUT, HEMLOCK, WHITE PINE, POPLAR, YELLOW
PINE, AND OTHER AS THEY BECOME AVAILABLE. They are all available
in tongue and groove and kiln dried. They arrive unfinished
upon delivery. All the wood can be stained and and sealed
using the best non-toxic
products available anywhere!
